My friends and I prefer very small groups in order to give you the attention you deserve. Whether your a stand hunter, still hunter or a tracker, we will put you in areas that naturally hold BIG deer. Most hunters stay within 1/4 mile from the road. We try and get back to where most hunters won't want to go! We don't hunt near any residential or agricultural lands. This is big woods hunting! The deer can not be patterned in these areas thus resulting in a real hunt for your game. Homework is key, and that's our job.

NEW January 10 2008

Bear hunting was a great success last year. We will continue to use the same sites and add some new ones for the 2008 season.

In 2008 ,we will have exclusive access to 59 acres along the Pleasant River in Milo. This will become our new base. With over 1/2 mile of River frontage, this is the ideal place to bring your RV, camper or tent. It is just 1 mile from town so the convenience is second to none. You will get the tranquility of the river and the undeveloped scenery of a remote camp, but very close to town.

Moose hunting can be done almost anywhere in central Maine. We will concentrate in an area held by the Great North Woods located in the boundaries of WMD 14+9. There are thousands of acres available to get one of these huge animals. While going to the remote bear baits, I have seen moose on every trip. We spotted 4 cows and 5 bulls from the truck while driving to the sites..

Milo is also know as the "three river community" due to the fact that the Sebec, Piscatiquis and the Pleasant rivers all merge at Milo. These rivers host excellent fishing for Bass, Pickerel, Salmon and Trout. There are also 2 cold water lakes within 20 minutes, Sebec and Schoodic. These lakes are known for their Salmon and Lake Trout. If the big lakes are not your thing, we can get you into some smaller ones off the beaten path that offer great brook trout! No matter what your fishing for, including relaxation it's within a short distance from our base.

We Offer

bulletHUNTING BY THE DAY (Designed for the hunter who can only take a Friday off) Arrive Thursday night and hunt Friday and Saturday with a bird hunt on Sunday if time permits!
bulletup to 4 x 1 Guided Hunts (Upland Birds) with your dogs or ours
bullet2 x 1 Guided Hunts (Deer / Moose / Upland Birds)
bullet1 x 1 Guided Hunts (Deer / Upland Birds / Bear over Bait)
bulletRemote Guided Hunts (Deer / Moose / Upland Birds / Bear)
bulletRemote Accommodations for your hunting party
bulletSunday hunting for game birds on a private preserve (since there is no hunting on Sun in Maine, this is real popular for those who travel and have a limited time to hunt)

We have access to a walk in cooler to keep your game if the weather is too warm. Also there are a few butchers in the area that will process your game before you leave. If you get a trophy, we use a local taxidermist that does outstanding work with lead times of less than a year.

For those looking for an adventure of a lifetime, we offer a true "remote hunt". MWA is equipped with all the materials required for a remote base camp. We will supply everything you need for a comfortable stay at a remote site. Our wall tents can sleep 4 with no problem and 6 if your all close friends! They can have a wood stove placed inside for heat or you can use my favorite K1 heater that lasts all night without refueling. To give you an example, my 2 hunting buddies and I were staying in the tent in November with an outside temperature of 17 deg. F. Inside the tent we slept in T-shirts and a summer rated sleeping bag. Just because your 23 miles in, doesn't mean that you have to "rough it"! We supply a gas grill for all your cooking along with a custom made 24" cast iron tri-pod griddle for cooking over open fires. At the end of the day nothing feels better than a hot shower........we have that too! A propane powered hot shower system will become your best friend by day 2! These remote camps can be either guided or non guided. We can set-up camp for you and your crew to enjoy or we can be there and help out when needed.
