Company Profile

The very thought of an adventure was enough to allow me, through the years, to go places most people will never see. It is these adventures with my friends that generate stories that are told again and again. Maine Wildland Adventures was started by the pure desire to share the enjoyment we get in the Maine wild lands with those who want to experience the true unaltered outdoors that central Maine has to offer. From big woods hunting and remote camping to snowmobiling and inland canoe or boating trips. Between my staff and I.......we can certainly show you and your family a great time in the Maine wild lands.

What's New

1/10/08  [New!]We are now booking bear hunts for the 2008 season.

We have been sledding for several weeks now and the conditions were AWESOME.....till we got the heat wave of 60 degrees for 2 days. Hopefully we get blasted with another storm soon.

A friend of mine who has trail cams out year round has been taking pictures of a nice 10 pt buck......last week he got the picture he was waiting for.....the buck with no antlers! It didn't take him long to find an excuse to go out and start searching on the runs that the buck has made. Well low and behold....after 2 hrs, he came across both sheds laying on the ground! He called me and we both enjoyed the excitement. That was all that I needed to hear to get me thinking of the bucks we almost got this past year. I will need to go look for their shed very soon!

8/17/07 We have been baiting bear for several weeks now, and I am happy to report that ALL of our sites are being hit on a regular basis! I will be putting up the stands next weekend and making the last minute preps needed to allow a clear shot.

While traveling on the remote roads in this past month, we have seen both cow and bull moose along with several deer and a coyote. This past weekend I took my dad with me to keep me company during the 4 hr drive. We were able to see a bull moose, several turkeys and an owl that was perched next to the road. All these animals were seen before 3pm! If we were to stay longer and go for a spotlight ride, then I'm sure we would see even more wildlife.

On July 27th we went camping at our favorite remote lake. We came across probably the largest moose I have seen! This monster had at least a 60" rack and would top the scales around 1000 lbs! The very next day, I walked some people into another remote pond where we saw nothing.....till a bull moose stood up in the middle of the pond! He was completely under water when we got to the shoreline. The water just poured off his antlers like a fountain and the weeds were being sucked up like spaghetti! This was a scene that will never be repeated in my lifetime. I am glad that others got to experience the sight and sounds of that animal at close range. They were very impressed and were glad that they left the campsite to look for an adventure!

6/25/07  We are now taking spots for the 2007 Bear/ Moose and Deer seasons. I met with the timber company and have the permits for bear baiting in some nice spots that have not been baited for years! The sign I saw was promising.

I went fishing on the weekend of June 23........it was windy as all get out but the fishing was great! We weren't having much luck fishing for salmon of trout in the streams so we decided to just go "fishing".....We took off to another spot I like and we used top water lures.....it wasn't but 2 casts when all hell broke loose!!! The pickerel were hitting like they were starving to death. We lost count of how may of these fresh water barracudas that we caught! The fight and action that these fish were giving made me think of why we don't just go "fishing" more often.  The action was steady and strong for the 3 hrs that we spent in the canoe. A day enjoyed by all with many stories of the monster that took my hula popper!!

3/27/07  Check out some new services listed Wildlife Viewing /Photography & Off Trail Snow Shoeing  We have a great time doing these activities ourselves, so it only seemed right to offer them so you can enjoy them too.
